It all began when I went to the elementary school – that’s when I started being concerned with my jaw noticing that it was somewhat “different”. My lower jaw was protruding. But back then I had no idea what was to become of my life because of that shortcoming…
The older I grew, the more it was sticking out… People started picking on me… Besides, I had a very long chin… And it just looked wrong…
I would often cry myself to sleep but I never dared say a word to my parents about the surgery… Besides, back then I had no idea such surgeries were even an option.
At about 9 or 10, I started going to the orthodontist… The plates and the braces did fix my bite, but the results stayed for about a month only… And then it all went back to where we had started… But now I’m glad that it did not work, cause otherwise I would not have done the surgery. After all, I really wanted to push my chin back and shorten it, so that it looked right…
So my orthodontist suggested I should go for a surgery! I agreed right away without giving it a second thought… The preparation took about six months (they broadened my upper jaw). At first, I got my chin done (shortened), but the results were hardly visible at all… I was stressing quite a bit because of that… But then I year later, they operated on my jaw, and that’s what made my chin look OK!!! I had to wear braces for the surgery and I decided to leave them just to fix my teeth while I’m at it. I’m SOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn’t go through any pain after the surgery… I guess the only hard thing about it was that I couldn’t open my mouth – not even for a millimeter – for about a month. That is you can’t eat for a month – only drink… But otherwise it wasn’t that bad at all. The main thing is – don’t be afraid! A wasn’t afraid at all and never hesitated.
The surgery lasted about 4 hours… It’s a complicated surgery… I spent a day in the intensive care after it (that the most the most difficult time). For those of you who are thinking of the surgery: DO NOT BE AFRAID! It doesn’t hurt))) And it does change your looks a lot.
Many thanks to my surgeons !!!!!!!!! Now I really believe that plastic surgery does wonders !!!!!!
